2019 NFL Week 17 Predictions

Jets -1 over Bills, 19-17
-Reports are Bills are sitting everyone.

Saints -13 over Panthers, 30-13
-Saints trying to get that #1 seed.

Browns -3 over Bengals, 26-22
-Bengals have locked up the number 1 overall pick, so there isn’t a ton of motivation to not win. However, generally the Browns are better and able to move the ball. Chubb secures the rushing title here.

Packers -12.5 over Lions, 30-10
-I’m going to assume the Packers are playing for some specific playoff placement here. Lions are done.

Chiefs -8 over Chargers, 30-17
-Chiefs likely will be playing for the #2 seed, in case NE loses to Miami (unlikely as that is).

Bears -1 over Vikings, 17-16
-Reports are Vikings are sitting people, so this makes sense now.

Pats -16 over Fins, 31-13
-That’s a lot of points for a team that hasn’t been able to score reliably for almost two months now. However, the Dolphins extended all their energy in their OT victory last week. Nice story, well coached team, but NE basically views this as a playoff game because if they win, they get a bye and avoid playing a playoff game.

Falcons pk over Bucs, 29-27
-I like the way Atlanta is playing. They absolutely need to blow it up, but have almost done too well to do so. Bucs…well, they are looking for a way to get Jameis to 35 TDs and 30 picks, with 5000 yards as well. What a year to watch QBs in.

Steelers -2.5 over Ravens, 14-13
-Normally a week 17 PIT BAL game is wild and rough. However, in this case unfortunately the Ravens are shutting it down and the Steelers are wildly hurt at the skill positions. Probably an unwatchable game.

Cowboys -11 over Washington, 30-17
-Cowboys will score a lot, but, too late Garrett. It needs to be over for you.

Titans -3.5 over Texans, 20-10
-Texans likely to go turtle, just nothing to play for here. Titans want to make the playoffs. Henry should be good to go, perhaps a strong DFS play.

Colts -3.5 over Jags, 24-17
-Jags need to reset. Wow has this been ugly down the stretch.

Eagles -4.5 over Giants, 31-26
-Eagles finish this out, somehow win the division, and might get lucky and get a leaking Seattle team in round 1. What a life.

Raiders +3.5 over Broncos, 20-17
-Just too tight for the extra half point.

Rams -7 over Cards, 29-20
-Divisional game that is somewhat meaningless at the end of the season. However, I think McVay wants a winning season at least on paper, Kyler is hurt, and the Rams are still a far more talented team.

49ers -3 over Seahawks, 26-22
-I love Russell and my Seahawks, but wow the injuries are piling up. I have to take SF here.

2019 NFL Week 16 Predictions

Week 16 Predictions
Texans -3 over Bucs, 30-26
-One team fighting for something, the other isn't. One team has Deshaun Watson, the other has Jameis. I mean, there it is, right?

Pats -6.5 over Bills, 20-13
-Probably a rock fight. However, the funny part is NE doesn't really need to win the game. They have Miami next week, and win still wins the division. Still, they are competitive for the 2nd seed and the bye, so hopefully this is a game where the offensive clicks a little better, and Josh Allen comes back to earth a little.

Rams +7 over 49ers, 24-27
-Just taking a big number versus the suddenly leaky 49ers defense. Hopefully a shootout, I have players on all sides of this one.

Falcons -7.5 over Jags, 30-17
-So excited about the fantasy prospects here.

Giants +1 over Washington, 20-17
-Why, I'll never know.

Jets +3 over Steelers, 20-16
-No idea why, but the Jets resemble a professional offense over the last four weeks.

Saints -2 over Titans, 30-22
-That's a lot of respect to Tennessee. Too much in fact.

Fins +1.5 over Bengals, 17-13
-Ugh.

Ravens -9.5 over Browns, 37-20
-Lamar is going to take me to a fantasy title, right?

Panthers +6.5 over Colts, 20-16
-Just too many points versus an offensively challenged Colts team right now.

Broncos -7 over Lions, 20-10
-Bad game for the Broncos last week, but this is an okay team versus a bad one.

Chargers -7.5 over Raiders, 27-16
-Chargers are rounding into shape, you know, way too late.

Cowboys -2.5 over Eagles, 24-21
-I guess. I won’t want to watch this. They aren’t worthy.

Seahawks -9 over Cards, 27-17
-Playoff bound team versus 1-2-3 Cancun.

Chiefs -6 over Bears, 27-13
-No way the Bears can score with them.

Packers +5.5 over Vikings, 26-23
-I like getting these points. I’ll take any points with Aaron Rodgers.

2019 NFL Week 15 Predictions

Jets +15.5 over Ravens, 17-26
-Just because TNF tends to be low scoring and slow. Just cover baby.

Titans -3 over Texans, 27-22
-Sneakily, the Titans are white hot. Texans are likely more talented and more explosive but have more holes and are far more inconsistent. Titans it is then.

Bills +3 over Steelers, 23-22
-Rock fight in a mud pit near a brick yard sprinkled with saw dust. Unwatchable. Take the points.

Broncos +10.5 over Chiefs, 24-23
-Chiefs have clinched the division, have injury issues, and the Broncos are on a tear. Just makes sense for a cover if not an overall win.

Packers -4 over Bears, 26-16
-Packers are the first put together team the Bears have faced in a little while, and it will show here.

Seahawks -6 over Panthers, 26-17
-6 weeks ago, this might have been a good game. Now, ouch. CMC will still get his stats though.

Patriots -9 over Bengals, 24-10
-Tough week for the Pats, but is the Bengals, after a loss, and after a controversy. I’m even starting Brady in two fantasy matchups. I’m extremely aware of how bad he’s been, but I don’t care. It’s going to be bad in Cincy.

Bucs -3.5 over Lions, 20-13
-What an ugly game with all the injuries. Still, the Bucs have far more talent left.

Giants -3.5 over Fins, 20-14
-The Giants can lose and solidify the number 2 overall pick. They won’t of course and will win this stupidly. Honestly, this is a no-bet because the Fins keep things way too close.

Eagles -5.5 over Washington, 17-10
-I will not watch a minute of this monstrosity. Josh McCown was prepping to play WR last week. Incorrect.

Raiders -6.5 over Jags, 30-20
-For the second straight year, and 4th time overall, it is the last home game ever in Oakland for the Raiders. That checks out.

Browns -2.5 over Cards, 20-16
-Browns are alive, Cards are not. That simple.

Vikings -2.5 over Chargers, 24-20
-A nice game somehow. But that Vikings D-Line is going to crush the Chargers.

49ers -11 over Falcons, 33-21
-Big number but yeah….no way I’m taking that.

Rams -1 over Cowboys, 30-27
-You know, I feel good about this pick too. Imagine that after week 4 or so.

Saints -8 over Colts, 34-16
-Wow I love this number. There is just only so high the Colts can go points wise. Last week it took the defense to get into the mid-30s. The Saints won’t make the same kind of mistakes as the Bucs.

2019 NFL Week 14 Predictions

Week 14 Predictions
Ravens -6 over Bills, 26-16
-Super interested in this game, and I wouldn’t bet it, but if forced how can you bet against Lamar right now?

Packers -13 over Washington, 33-10
-I don’t know, Washington is motivated because they can still win the division (checking notes….oh that’s actually a possibility?)

Texans -9 over Broncos, 28-13
-Lock had a nice start, but it is possible the Texans are coming together. Not sure the Broncos will be able to score enough with them.

Saints -2.5 over 49ers, 20-17
-Tough stretch for the Niners, both travel and scheduled opponent-wise. Still a good team, but getting the Saints at home for less than 3 is a gift.

Browns -7 over Bengals, 24-13
-Whatever.

Falcons -3 over Panthers, 27-23
-Taking the infrastructure over the lack of infrastructure.

Vikings -13 over Lions, 30-16
-I actually feel bad for the Lions, and think there will be value in their over next year and early lines because people are only going to remember this end. Add some talent in the defensive backfield and a healthy Stafford and this isn’t a bad team. Right now though, Vikings are going to crush them.

Fins +5.5 over Jets, 20-22
-5.5 points? Are people watching both these teams right now?

Bucs -3 over Colts, 27-16
-I wish it weren’t so. But the Bucs can score, whatever their other faults, and the Colts cannot. Tends to matter.

Chargers -3 over Jags, 24-20
-Minshew is back…but so is Derwin James.

Chiefs +3.5 over Pats, 27-26
-With the extra half hour you kind of have to. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see a Pats’ win with 37 minutes of possession and some wild ST touchdown, but unlikely with the way it is trending right now.

Steelers -2.5 over Cards, 17-13
-Begrudging respect for the Steelers and what they’ve managed to do here. Cards are wilting.

Titans -2.5 over Raiders, 23-20
-Grab this while it is under 3. Titans a much more physical team right now.

Seahawks pk over Rams, 33-31
-Seahawks just a better more exciting team right now. Great matchup for fantasy though, a lot of points are going to be scored here. Over is a very manageable 47.

Eagles -9.5 over Giants, 24-13
-The amount of people who are excited to see Eli lose his exactly .500 record either way is astounding…..Okay I’m kind of curious too.

2019 NFL Week 13 Predictions

Week 13 Predictions
On vacation this week, so these are going to be quick.

Bears -4.5 over Lions, 20-16
-Does this have to be a game? It’s just so sad.

Cowboys -7 over Bills, 29-16
-Can’t imagine the Bills are going to be able to score with them very well.

Saints -6.5 over Falcons, 37-24
-Despite the nice run from the Falcons, the Saints are going to run through this.

Packers -6.5 over Giants, 30-20
-Giants will start the end of season wilt now but make it look closer in garbage time.

Panthers -9.5 over Washington, 20-7
-Good opportunity for an easy win by the Panthers here.

Ravens -5.5 over 49ers, 24-17
-Can’t believe these are same team from the Superbowl 6 years ago. Totally different feel.

Titans +3.5 over Colts, 20-19
-Colts might be finally feeling the affects of all the injuries and the wear of the season.

Eagles -9.5 over Fins, 24-10
-I wish I wasn’t going to, but I’ll be taking the Eagles a lot from here on out. The schedule friends, the schedule.

Raiders +10.5 over Chiefs, 28-24
-Just a feeling. Raiders going to keep it close and run the ball a lot. Chiefs will be coming off a bye, but their issue really isn’t health as much as consistency and time of possession.

Jags -1.5 over Bucs, 27-20
-Love betting against Jameis as usual.

Jets -3 over Bengals, 20-6
-Jets will be dumb enough to try to win this game.

Rams -3 over Cards, 33-23
-Time for the Rams to win the games they should and the Cards to fade back.

Chargers pk over Broncos, 22-16
-While the Chargers may be functionally out of it, this is a case of the Broncos being very done and the Chargers still having a lot of talent.

Pats -3 over Texans, 24-13
-Texans have more rest to be sure, but I love this matchup for their defense. Perhaps this is where the Pats offense, especially rushing, gets on track.

Seahawks -3 over Vikings, 27-23
-Both teams have been impressive, but the Vikings are so inconsistent. I am staying with Russell.

2019 NFL Week 12 Predictions

Week 12 Predictions
Raiders -3 over Jets, 23-10
-The Raiders are seemingly a professional team, and the Jets are a shade below that. We are at the point of the season in which the teams who can make the playoffs win over those who cannot even if the talent isn’t crazy different.

Lions -3.5 over Ethnic Slurs, 20-10
-Lions are not good. But they try and there is talent in some places. Washington…yikes. Even with Driskel, the Lions got this.

Seahawks +1 over Eagles, 30-20
-How is this only 1? Seattle is rested, Eagles are declining. So confused. Gotta get Russell & Hustle going early. The Eagles have the Cowboys and a plum schedule after this, and might be looking ahead.

Falcons -4 over Bucs, 23-16
-It seems the Falcons are rising and the Bucs will throw them at least two picks. Atlanta’s coaching staff is somehow going to keep their jobs.

Saints -9.5 over Panthers, 30-20
-Panthers might be done. Saints are locking in.

Browns -10.5 over Fins, 26-13
-Pains me to confidently lay 10.5 with this Browns’ team. However, the Fins are done now.

Giants +6 over Bears, 17-16
-Giants can score enough to cover this game, Bears shouldn’t be trusted to lay almost a touchdown to anyone right now.

Bills -4 over Broncos, 20-13
-Bills keep getting these nice games. Might be a really random 11-win team at the end of the year.

Titans -3.5 over Jags, 20-16
-Jags season might be wilting. Titans are rested and ready to go.

Pats -6.5 over Cowboys, 30-22
-I’m a little nervous about the Pats’ ability to score enough points to cover this, but I think the defense is ready for this test. Cowboys have to play in prime time on the road outdoors in the cold (relatively).

Packers +3 over 49ers, 24-23
-Not to be a complete Pats’ homer, but I love how things work out for them. The NFC elite is going to kick the crap out of each other over the next three weeks. The 49ers might have the worst of it, because these teams are good, and the 49ers are a bit beaten up at the skill positions right now.

Ravens -3 over Rams, 27-23
-Can’t bet against the Ravens right now, but it’s a low confidence bet. Ravens have to travel all the way west, night time, versus a still very talented defense.

2019 NFL Week 11 Predictions

Week 11 Predictions
Browns -3 over Steelers, 20-16
-Should be low scoring, maybe a bit boring, but an equalizing game between an underachieving Browns team and an overachieving Steelers team.

Cowboys -5 over Lions, 30-17
-Considering Vegas stuck this line right in the middle, they are unsure as I am whether the Cowboys are really a good team that can knock off a hurt and limping Lions team. Unfortunately, that is the likely outcome so it is what I will have to choose. Reluctantly.

Jags +2.5 over Colts, 24-20
-If this goes to 3, jump all over that. Confusing. Colts, even if Jacoby is back, are limping into this matchup.

Bills -6.5 over Fins, 20-13
-Um Miami, you know your goal was to not win, correct? Bills need a win here so likely things return to how they were the first 8 games of the season for each team.

Vikings -10 over Broncos, 23-6
-I honestly forgot the Broncos were a team during their bye week. It might be the least interesting team even if it isn’t the least talented. I also couldn’t identify Brandon Allen if you threatened me and gave me a lineup. Am I starting him this week in a league? Darn right.

Saints -5.5 over Bucs, 30-24
-I have no idea what happened last week with the Saints. It won’t happen again though, you have to imagine the Saints come roaring back here. I am excited to see Michael Thomas’s stat line, let me tell you.

I will not pick the Jets-Wash game. No.

Panthers -4.5 over Falcons, 24-17
-That was the big get up game for the Falcons last week, and the Panthers are still in the hunt so secure a big win.

Ravens -4 over Texans, 31-25
-Honestly, this is close and a good game. The Texans will be rested and prepped, and their QB gives a bit more of a reasonable Lamar-facimile to practice against than most teams get. However, the Ravens are home, rolling, and the Texans defense is limping a little. Low confidence, but I have the Ravens.

Niners -10 over Cards, 27-16
-Cards absolutely gave them a good game a few weeks ago. But that was an odd Thursday night, the Niners are coming off a loss for the first time, and it is in SF. I almost wrote Candlestick. I’ll never be over it.

Raiders -10.5 over Bengals, 23-10
-That’s a huge number for a team like the Raiders to cover, but hopefully that means a big game for Waller and Jacobs.

NE -3.5 over Eagles, 27-20
-Feels like a 17-3 first half by NE and then the Eagles come back a bit. Hopefully the Pats took the off week to rest and refocus a little, and get the WRs all up to speed. I want to see NKH. And, you know, a functional offensive line.

Rams -6 over Bears, 24-13
-I hate the Bears, but if the Rams don’t do it this week, they are on my bad list. On a funny note, Todd Gurley has been owned by 4 teams in one of my leagues and I find that hilarious. Just attractive enough to get, and then, “oh yeah, this is going to be a headache”. And yes, I was one of those teams.

Chiefs -3.5 over Chargers, 34-30
-I have to imagine that the Chiefs right the ship and win a shootout versus their division rivals. Especially when there will likely be more Chiefs fans there than Chargers fans.
