2020 NFL Week 8 Predictions

2020 NFL Week 8 Predictions

Panthers -2 over Falcons, 28-24

-I’m not sure if CMC will be back, but at least the Panthers look like a reasonable, hard-working, not snake-bitten team. I will not take the dumpster fire, voodoo-afflicted, Murphy’s Law of a football club in Atlanta for the rest of this season.

Ravens -3.5 over Steelers, 31-17

-Steelers are the only unbeaten team but I think they are still far from perfect. Watching them, it is obvious how reliant they are on short and accurate passes by Ben to keep the offense on track. At some point that will end, and the Ravens rested and coming off a bye are the best team to do this.

Colts -2.5 over Lions, 20-17

-The Colts are absolutely going to manhandle the Lions on both sides of the trench.

Packers -7 over Vikings, 35-23

-I hope Dalvin Cook is healthy for fantasy purposes, but it may not matter for the game. Cousins is going to have to push to score at the same rate the Packers will; and we’ve seen how that dance goes this year.

Bills -3.5 over Pats, 24-18

-The Bills still don’t look quite right to me; they’re more playing at being a leading team rather than actually owning that role. However, the Pats are a mess.

Titans -5.5 over Bengals, 31-20

-I’m always scared of Joey Covers (he even caused the Browns kicker to miss an extra point last week), but the Titans are going to be mad after their loss to the Steelers. This might be my eliminator pick.

Raiders +2.5 over Browns, 24-23

-There’s good Browns and bad Browns (often accompanied by good Baker and bad Baker). Say what you want about them, but the Raiders are pretty consistent every week. With OBJ’s injury and Chubb still out…I’ll ride with Vegas.

Chiefs -19.5 over Jets, 41-3

-This isn’t going to be pretty.

Rams -3.5 over Fins, 27-22

-TUAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Chargers -3 over Broncos, 31-5

-I want to like Drew Lock, but it isn’t going well. I do like Justin Herbert…that is going well.

Saints -4 over Bears, 27-16

-The Bears are 5-2…they have essentially the same amount of points scored as points scored against them this season. This is a fake ass team. And my Saints aren’t perfect, but they’re a better team than this.

Seahawks -3 over 49ers, 34-13

-How the heck is this only 3?? That smells like A LOT of over adjustment after both teams’ results last week. Slam that 3 before it goes to 3.5 or 4.

Eagles (NL) over Cowboys, 24-9

-Eagles are moderately horrible and a disgrace to watch for most of the game. The Cowboys at this point are a disgrace to watch throughout the entire game and the post-game press conferences and throughout the week, really.

Bucs -10.5 over Giants, 28-6

-The only uncertainty in this game is which, if any, Tampa Bay WR you start in fantasy. Eliminator pick? Check please!

NFL 2020 Week 7 Predictions

2020 NFL Week 7 Predictions

Eagles -4.5 over Giants, 24-10

-Eagles are just a much better team than the Giants are.

Titans -1 over Steelers, 31-23

-I still don’t think Pittsburgh can throw the ball down the field. But I KNOW the Titans can.

Falcons -1.5 over Lions, 29-26

-I’m assuming the Raheem Morris era is somewhere between how bad they were at the beginning of the year under Dan Quinn and how good we thought they were going to be coming into the year. That’s just about good enough to stop the Lions from winning consecutive games, which I’m pretty sure they’re contractually obligated to never do.

Bengals +3.5 over Browns, 20-21

-Joey Covers, baby. Let’s put it this way…whether Baker was hurt and pulled, was too hurt and shouldn’t have played in the first place, or just got benched…it isn’t good. That’s enough for me to take the 3.5.

Saints -6.5 over Panthers, 30-13

-It was nice while it lasted, but the fairytale run by the Panthers is over. The Saints had two weeks to figure out whatever was going on with them and hopefully fix Mike Thomas’s physical and emotional injuries.

Bills -10 over Jets, 27-3

-I can’t believe I’m taking the Bills laying 13…but this is the Jets we’re talking about. I hope RedZone does its patriotic duty and shows no more than one minute of this game.

WFT pk over Cowboys, 17-13

-I have no words. Dallas needs this more, but they’re now maybe an average offense and still the worst defense.? And Washington is like the 25th offense and maybe the average defense? So, I think you have to pick Washington…???

Packers -3 over Texans, 33-28

-Packers come back with a vengeance. Texans may still be shell-shocked after what Tennessee did to them last week.

Seahawks -3.5 over Cards, 43-37

-Take the over! This game is going to be a pinball of fantasy numbers…I’m so excited!

Pats -2.5 over 49ers, 23-16

-Low confidence pick. The Pats aren’t going to lose this many in a row and the 49ers are still really beat up AND have to travel to New England.

Chiefs -7.5 over Broncos, 31-10

-Not nearly enough points. Broncos look better under Drew Lock, but 6 field goals won’t get it done over the Chiefs.

Chargers -7.5 over Jags, 28-17

-Chargers would not be a bad eliminator pick this week and this is an exciting game of two young QBs. Give me the duck over the mustache.

Bucs -3.5 over Raiders, 28-24

-Is Tampa the best team in the NFL? It doesn’t quite pass the eye test…and I don’t know what happened versus the Bears. The advanced stats love them and their two losses are to the Saints and Bears, so strength of schedule supports their case. Tampa hasn’t even had its’ full offense together for any consistent amount of time.

Rams -6 over Bears, 31-23

-The Rams absolutely stumbled last week, but the advanced stats and adjusted yardage shows a very good team. I think Aaron Donald feasts on Nick Foles.

NFL 2020 Week 6 Predictions

2020 NFL Week 6 Predictions

Panthers -1.5 over Bears, 20-16

-I guess.

Bengals +8 over Colts, 20-26

-I don’t like what I saw for the Bengals over the Ravens. But I didn’t really like what I saw for the Colts last week. Just taking the 8, you know, if the game even happens.

Lions -3 over Jags, 27-22

-The Jags are wilting, and the Lions are rested.

Vikings -4 over Falcons, 29-17

-I still don’t think the Vikings are completely right. But the Falcons are BAD and I’m not even sure they can score now.

Giants -3 over WFT, 26-9

-Is this the Eliminator Pick? Maybe. In all seriousness, the Giants’ offense woke up while the WFT offense is going in reverse.

Ravens -7.5 over Eagles, 31-16

-There’s still something not quite right with the Ravens. But there’s A LOT not quite right with the Eagles.

Browns +4 over Steelers, 26-24

-Browns are 4-1 and might be good. I’m not sure the Steelers are as good as their record…and I still want to see Ben throw downfield consistently to someone not named Chase Claypool.

Titans -3.5 over Texans, 31-21

-I really like the Titans and how good they’ve been has been a little forgotten because of the COVID mess.

Patriots -8.5 over Broncos, 27-13

-This assumes Cam plays and likely Gilmore and Lock as well. Patriots are just a much better team with a future. So, my pick remains largely unchanged from last week.

Fins -9 over Jets, 24-10

-THIS is my Eliminator Pick. Fins still aren’t a great team, but they are well coached, fight hard, and try new things each week. The Jets have none of these qualities.

Packers -1 over Bucs, 31-28

-I think the Bucs are a pretty decent team, and most of the advanced stats agree with that assertion. However, the Packers are coming off a bye, getting Adams back, and Aaron Rodgers is on his revenge tour.

Rams -3 over 49ers, 31-13

-I’m not sure I would’ve used this in Eliminator even if I still had the Rams as an option. But, this fairly high confidence for me. The Rams are just operating much better and they still haven’t truly had a massive breakout game. It could happen this week versus a 49ers team in rough shape. PS: check out the 49ers schedule the next seven weeks. Internally, they’re probably thinking Wild Card rather than Division now. In truth, they might be staring at 2-10 and an interestingly high draft pick.

Chiefs -4.5 over Bills, 30-19

-As good as the Bills are playing, they can’t play as they did versus the Titans and think they’re going to win this game. Especially since the Chiefs are coming off a loss. However, this is an interesting statement game for both teams.

Cards -1 over Cowboys, 34-26

-I’m grabbing THIS before it gets to 3. I’d like to see more from the Arizona offense and I’m intellectually curious about how much of Dak’s production Andy Dalton can replicate.

NFL 2020 Week 5 Predictions

 2020 NFL Week 5 Predictions

Bucs -3.5 over Bears, 31-10

-Bears just don’t look right and the Bucs are rounding into form. They look super impressive considering they can’t even get through one game with one WR healthy.

Falcons -2.5 over Panthers, 24-18

-*shrug*

Bengals +13 over Ravens, 23-31

-Ravens are going to dominate the Bengals. However, Burrow doesn’t seem the type to throw back-breaking pick-sixes to inflate the score and cover spreads.

Jags +6.5 over Texans, 27-28

-Too many points versus an 0-4 team. In Gardner, we trust!

Raiders +12.5 over Chiefs, 24-33

-Look everyone, calm down. The Chiefs are winning this game. I just don’t want to hang 13 for a divisional game that the Chiefs are playing on a short week, when they then have to play on Thursday again.

Cards -7 over Jets, 31-13

-Word on the street is Joe Flacco is playing QB for the Jets. Enough said.

Steelers -7 over Eagles, 25-16

-The battle of Pennsylvania leans heavily towards the team that just had a week off and is not terribly injured.

Titans pk over Bills, 27-24

-I have no idea what this line will be or if this game will happen, but I’m still not convinced the Bills are for real and this will actually be more of a shootout than it looks like on paper. Also, AJ Brown…. you better be healthy because I need a WR2 in fantasy.

Rams -7 over WFT, 30-13

-Why oh why did I use the Rams last week in the eliminator pool??

49ers -9 over Fins, 24-12

-Do we see Tua? Can we see Tua? I want to see Tua!

Pats pk over Broncos, 27-6

-No matter what the QB situation is, the Pats are a much better team than the Broncos.

Browns +2 over Colts, 26-23

-The loss of Chubb is significant, but they’ve really shown an overall toughness in developing offensive prowess.

Cowboys -10 over Giants, 34-13

-Dallas is my eliminator pick this week. You know why? Because they can beat anyone on any given week, but I don’t trust them to. The Giants are so abhorrent that this is the week I am going to feel the best about it.

Seahawks -7 over Vikings, 31-22

-Vikings have come around a little bit, but the Seahawks have too much firepower. Also, #cotinuetoletRusscook.

Saints -7.5 over Chargers, 31-20

-Saints rounding into form as one of the better teams in the NFL. Unfortunately for my Saints SB pick, it appears the Saints best is a notch below the elite teams.

NFL 2020 Week 4 Predictions

2020 NFL Week 4 Predictions

Saints -3 over Lions, 24-14

-Saints aren’t going 1-3 and the Lions already had their upset win last week.

Cards -3.5 over Panthers, 33-23

-Cards are a better team than they showed last week, and the Panthers aren’t fully healthy.

Jags +3.5 over Bengals, 20-18

-I guess I’m just gonna take the slight experience at QB. Honestly, I wouldn’t touch this game.

Cowboys -4.5 over Browns, 39-31

-This is gonna be a shootout, so really the bet is over 56. At the end of the day the Browns probably don’t have enough, and probably aren’t aggressive enough, to get to the number needed to win this game. But it’ll be fun watching!

Vikings +3.5 over Texans, 24-23

-I literally looked at this game and went “uhhhhhhh” for 4 seconds before figuring out a pick. On one hand I don’t think the Texans are going 0-4, but on the other hand I can’t in good faith lay 3.5 points with an 0-3 team.

Seahawks -6 over Fins, 34-24

-Start your Seahawks in DFS. The MVP train rolls on for Russell. Considering the Seahawks can’t stop anyone either, take the over at 54.

Bucs -7 over Chargers, 27-17

-Quietly, it really does seem like Brady has the inside track to win this division…which is wild only 2 weeks after what we saw in Week 1. It really continues to seem like Brady is in better physical condition than Brees at this point.

Ravens -14 over WFT, 34-6

-I wouldn’t even start your Ravens in DFS, because they’ll probably get pulled early in the game. It is curious Lamar Jackson hasn’t had a big game yet.

Bears +3 over Colts, 20-22

-I’m just taking the points and I believe in Foles.

Rams -13 over Giants, 31-10

-This is my eliminator pick and I love all my Rams WRs (I have them all. Somewhere. I have them all. I even have Brandin Cooks who doesn’t go there anymore. I have a problem).

Raiders +3.5 over Bills, 20-21

-Ok, I need to introspective for a moment. I just don’t like the Bills. So, here’s the test to see if this has become a bias or if I can be analytical about it. The Bills should not have won last week. And I think the Raiders got off their game versus the Patriots and are better than that. So, I’m taking the points and seeing how this rolls.

49ers -7 over Eagles. 23-14

-Everything says to go the other way. The Eagles are talented, winless, with a franchise QB, and a winning pedigree. The Niners are as beat up as you pretty much can be. However, SF just looks to be a tougher and more focus team and I’m rolling with it.

 Packers -7 over Falcons, 38-28

-No late meltdown here. Packers are just gonna rule this game. I just hope it stays close enough to create fantasy goodness. Does Dan Quinn get out of this week?
