NFL 2020 Week 12 Predictions

 2020 NFL Week 12 Predictions

Texans -3 over Lions, 30-26

The Texans look like their offense is in better shape than the Lions right now. Their QB is certainly better.

Cowboys -3 over WFT, 26-20

The Cowboys, with Dalton, at least resemble a competent football team on offense.

Raiders -3 over Falcons, 27-23

Some of this is whether Julio plays. But if the Raiders are in fact a decent team, it’s the type of game they should win easily. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they do.

Chargers +5.5 over Bills, 26-30

Bill are going to win this because A) they are a better team and B) if it’s at all close...the Chargers will find a way to lose. However, I’d take the over and the points.

Giants -6 over Bengals, 24-6

I know people are using the Giants in eliminator pools and honestly...that kind of sounds like a good idea.

Titans +3.5 over Colts, 28-27

Listen, everyone. I can’t quit the Titans. I’ve tried...they’re just so wonderful. The Colts are a sturdily built team and I respect them. But, I truly believe the Titans have a much higher capacity for offensive production and exciting plays. This is a massively important divisional game...and I have to take what I think is the better team getting 3.5 points.

Browns -6.5 over Jags, 20-13

I really like the Browns to grind this game out and run it down their throats. However, Jacksonville starting Glennon at QB makes me somewhat worried they will have a competent offense.  The Browns are probably still going to be my eliminator pick this week, but this game might be closer than we all think.

Vikings -4 over Panthers, 27-22

Ok I have to admit it, the Panthers are better than I think. However, the Vikings are still playoff hopeful and playing at home I like Dalvin Cook to run all over this Carolina defense.

Cards -2 over Pats, 31-23

Assuming Kyler is healthy, there’s no way New England can score with them.

Fins -7 over Jets, 19-9

I refuse to watch even a second of this game.

Saints -6 over Broncos, 30-22

I sneaky like the over for this game because it is so low (43). The Saints are still producing and the Broncos have been scoring more than people realize.

Rams -7 over 49ers, 30-13

This could be very ugly.

Chiefs -3.5 over Bucs, 34-30

I have no idea what to do with this game and wouldn’t bet it.

Packers -9 over Bears, 31-6

With all of the injuries Chicago has, and how bad their offense was when healthy, this is going to be a bloodbath.

Seattle -6 over Eagles, 34-27

The Eagles will probably turn this into a shootout, but Seattle should still win fairly easily.

NFL 2020 Week 11 Predictions

 2020 NFL Week 11 Predictions

Titans +6 over Ravens, 27-26

-The Ravens aren’t quite right on offense...but neither are the Titans. So, this likely ends in a very awkward shoot-out.

Browns -3 over Eagles, 23-14

-The Browns have most of their folks healthy now and are going to run the  crap out of the football. Versus a highly inconsistent, and still injury-affected, Eagles team...that’ll be enough.

Pats -2 over Texans, 27-17

-The Pats are starting to come around a little, even if a lot of the Ravens game was about weather and the Ravens’ offensive struggles. The same formula may be in play for this week as the Texans can’t get out of their own way.

Steelers -10.5 over Jags, 30-13

-I don’t like this Steelers team, but I’m having trouble finding the loss in their schedule.

Saints -3.5 over Falcons, 33-27

-The Falcons honestly have pretty comparable talent to the Saints, and collectively might even have more top-end talent on offense. But the next six weeks for New Orleans is playoff prep and positioning. The next six weeks for Atlanta is planning vacations and the likely exit of many staff and players.

Bengals +2 over WFT, 23-19

-Joey Covers, baby. Just a case of a younger and more exciting team.

Dolphins -3.5 over Broncos, 20-16

-The Dolphins are just good...and this is the kind of game good teams just win and we shouldn’t have to think about.

Chargers -9.5 over Jets, 27-9

-My only hesitation in loading up the Chargers for eliminators, KOM leagues, Fanduels, and anything else, is whether they just get ahead too quickly and then take their foot off the gas. They should destroy this Jets team.

Packers +2 over Colts, 31-22

-Anytime you can take Aaron Rodgers and get points...you pretty much have to.

Vikings -7.5 over Cowboys, 28-20

-I don’t like the extra half point because with Dalton back the Cowboys could be...reasonable on offense. Dalvin Cook is going to feast.

Raiders +7.5 over Chiefs, 27-30

-Reminder that the Raiders did beat the Chiefs earlier this season. Probably isn’t happening again...but good to think about.

Rams +3.5 over Bucs, 28-30

-I’m just taking the extra half point as this should be close. Win or lose, what I really want to see is Goff and his receivers really turn it on. They really haven’t yet this year and while their record is good, this looks more like a solid team than one truly set up for postseason success.

NFL 2020 Week 10 Predictions

 2020 NFL Week 10 Predictions

Titans -1 over Colts, 24-20

-I honestly think this line should be much higher. The Colts are declining and the Titans are only going to figure out more ways to put up points.

Bucs -5 over Panthers, 31-22

-The Panthers played a close game with the Chiefs last week, but may have emptied the barrels and lost CMC. The Bucs are going to want to put together a statement game after being embarrassed by the Saints. This is a good over bet at 15.5.

Texans +3.5 over Browns, 27-29

-The Texans are officially frisky enough that any line over a major point threshold should likely be taken versus teams that are not elite.

Lions -4 over WFT, 24-10

-WFT has put up a good fight, but the Lions are at a different talent level and can score far more consistently.

Packers -13 over Jags, 31-13

-Yeah, this is probably the Eliminator pick this week.

Eagles -3.5 over Giants, 23-17

-Eagles are coming off of a bye healthy and overall just more talented.

I’m refusing to bet Chargers vs. Dolphins. I’ll watch it as it’s entertaining, but if you tell me you have any idea what’s going to happen here...I think you’re confused.

Cards -2 over Bills, 34-31

-Cards beat Seahawks...Bills beat Seahawks...so this is the solution to the transitive property problem? It seems time for the pendulum to swing to “Bad Josh Allen” and for the amazing Kyler Murray run to continue.

Raiders -5 over Broncos, 26-20

-Broncos have shown more spunk than I thought, especially on offense. However, the Raiders have played solid B/B+ football and should take care of an overall talent-depleted Denver team.

Bengals +7.5 over Steelers, 27-26

-The Steelers are a flawed and unbeaten team. It’s happening one of these weeks and divisional games are always toughest. Burrows is hot, the Bengals are coming off of a bye, Big Ben is hurt, and Joey covers.

Rams -2 over Seahawks, 37-34

-The Seahawks offense is awesome, but their defense is just that bad. The Rams are healthy, prepared coming off of a bye, and far more balanced. The over  is 55.5 and I still love that bet. Big game for Jared Goff.

Saints -9 over 49ers, 31-10

-I called it a few weeks early, but the schedule is going to get ROUGH for the 49ers.

Ravens -7 over Patriots, 27-19

-Ravens have to get on track at some point and it seems likely it will be in New England.

Vikings -3 over Bears, 23-17

-You can’t make me bet for the Bears offense. It’s so bad I want to gouge my eyes out. This game might be over in 2 hours because all both teams are going to do is run, one team more effectively than the other.

NFL 2020 Week 9 Predictions

 2020 NFL Week 9 Predictions

Packers -7 over 49ers, 30-12

-This line really just suggests to me a great respect for how hard the 49ers fight, because they are beat to hell. It should be like...14 points.

Falcons -4 over Broncos, 29-24

-Y’all know by now that I’m not gonna bet the Falcons for the rest of time, but take this over at 49. Because apparently, the Broncos are a high scoring team now.

Seahawks -2.5 over Bills, 33-27

-This is actually a very good game, but I feel like the Seahawks with that extra half  point are the easy take. Josh Allen’s decline has to be worrisome for Buffalo fans.

Ravens -2 over Colts, 27-23

-This is a curious line that shows some respect for what a strong and well-coached team the Colts are. But at the end of the day, the Ravens have WAY more talent and explosive ability. Jackson -2 over Rivers is an easy bet.

Texans -7 over Jags, 28-13

-A lot of people are going to take the Texans in eliminator this week. Can’t blame them.

Chiefs -10.5 over Panthers, 34-21

-CMC coming back is a nice story, but the Panthers are a well-coached, high effort, and energy-filled young team who’s major flaw is that they cannot score dynamically or quickly. And they’re playing the Chiefs.

Vikings -4.5 over Lions, 28-20

-This is a barometer game for the Vikings. No need to mince words about it...they were BAD in the first few weeks of the season. Maybe this is an example of a time we should’ve trusted a proven, established, defensive head coach to at least create improvement over the middle part of the season. A win over the Lions would go a long way to showing the Vikings could at least be a reasonable opponent over the balance of the season.

Titans -6 over Bears, 26-19

-Welcome to “the two teams that Mike is unable to bet correctly in the 2020  NFL season!” I look at the stats for the Bears...and I don’t like it. I look at the play on the field for the Bears...and their offense makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Of course, they’re 5-3, competitive in every game, and took my SB pick, Saints, to OT last week. I love the Titans. The team makes sense to me on paper. Tannehill and Henry are both having great years. But they’ve been unable to be consistent or beat the teams with great records. So, here we are.

WFT -3 over Giants, 17-13

-...let’s just move on quickly, shall we?

Chargers -1 over Raiders, 27-23

-HERBERT!!

Cards -4.5 over Fins, 34-19

-This will be an interesting test for Tua and probably the game I thought the Fins were going to play last week versus the Rams: fast, downhill, and pressure-filled for a young QB.

Steelers -14 over Cowboys, 34-6

-I really want to see a team challenge Ben to throw the ball on the edges and deep down the field. I think the Steelers can be beaten and are a somewhat false undefeated team. I’m writing all of this because I couldn’t have anything less interesting to write about than the slaughter they’re going to give the Cowboys on Sunday.

Saints +4.5 over Bucs, 30-31

-I think this is going to be a very close game that is going to tell us a lot about the NFC South and probably the NFC Championship this year. The Packers and Seahawks are flawed on defense and the NFC East might as well not exist. I’m just taking the 4.5, because that’s a lot of points for a tough, inter-division, Sunday night football game between Brees and Brady.

Jets+10 over Pats, 17-19

-I liked this for Eliminator but...there’s just so much wrong with the Patriots right now. This is low confidence and really just based on how terrible the Jets are at everything.
